Leaky gut is an abnormal condition of increased gut permeability leading to a relevant influx of toxins and undigested proteins into the blood stream. Many are the factors playing a pivotal role in the triggering of such pathological condition. Disbiosis, wrong diet, genetic disposition, generic gut inflammation and therapeutic drugs abuse are among the main etiological elements driving toward such low bowel hyper-permeability stage, which then subsequently result into many apparently unrelated systemic inflammatory disorders. It is very easy to understand and accept that by breaking the intestinal barrier functioning, the resultant influx of toxins and undigested molecules represent a major safety challenge to the whole organism which therefore react by triggering a number of defensive mechanisms of systemic inflammation. Though in much cases such events might be not clinically flagrant in many others, depending on intensity, duration and specific subject susceptibility, might burst out into a wide variety of systemic disorders at first sight apparently distant from gut disturbances. Not only food allergies and intolerances, but also arthritis, fibromyalgia, vascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, and neurobehavioral disorders such as depression or anxiety, are some examples of diseases in somehow already linked to leaky gut incidence.

Hodgkin’s lymphoma in pediatric patients involves chemotherapy drug regimens containing Dacarbazine as a backbone of the therapy. Adverse drug events are the major concerns in the treatment plan of chemotherapy. Here in this case series, we present five cases of Hodgkin’s lymphoma of pediatric age group getting treated with Dacarbazine based chemotherapy either COPDac or ABVD. All patients developed shivering during the infusion. Three of them had fever spikes and one patient happened to have tachycardia. All the events were managed conservatively followed by safe administration of chemotherapy. Four patients are continuing to have treatment as per the plan and one patient is with end of treatment and on follow up. Naranjo’s scale was used for probability assessment of the events and score of 6 was given to all the events, indicating the adverse drug reactions to be probable. A very scarce data and our case series are evocative of further studies to review the administration time of the Dacarbazine as well as the addition of pre-medication before initiation of Dacarbazine infusion.

The main purpose of the sheep production is to improve profitability of yield traits such as meat, milk and wool obtained per animal. In this respect, selection is a remarkable tool for achieving genetic improvement and attaining better qualified offspring as to the quantitative traits. In obtaining of superior offspring according to a quantitative trait like live weight, the conservation of indigenous genetic sources and the detection of the breed standards, animal breeders take into account indirect selection criteria with the help of high genetic correlation coefficients between live weight and morphological traits. Moreover, the prediction of live body weight from some zoometrical (morphological) characteristics measured simply in farm animals is an important subject for developing prosperous animal breeding systems and in practice, regulating management conditions.
